More Tips On Keeping Your Toddler Healthy

  • It is important to bathe your toddler at least once a day. However, if your  child suffers from a skin condition, you should consult their pediatrician about how often bathing is appropriate. Sometimes two times a day is necessary, especially when they have played outside in the yard all day! LOL! You can also get tubby toys and soaps to make bathing FUN!
  • Be sure to keep your toddler’s nails clipped and clean. Purchase a nail brush and  clean underneath their nails when they get a bath. Numerous germs can hide under their fingernails. Just think of how they play when they go outside! Cleaning their nails and keeping them cut is essential. The longer their nails are the more dirt and germs can hide under them. Sometimes you need to clip their nails at least 2-3 times a week.
  • Washing their hands is an absolute given! Their little hands get so DIRTY! Practicing this type of good hygiene is very important in toddler care. Be sure that they wash their hands before they eat and after they use the restroom. You may also want to invest in some hand sanitizer which is very easy to use because you don’t need any water. Just don’t rely totally on the sanitizer.  Make sure that they wash their hands too.
  • Be sure to keep their teeth clean. Their body has to be clean including their mouths.  It just goes hand in hand.
  • Wash their clothes and shoes on a regular basis. You don’t want to give any bacteria the opportunity to grow anywhere. Use color safe bleach along with your detergent. This will also keep their clothes free from stains.

If you follow these toddler care tips and the ones from my previous blog, “How To Keep Your Toddler Healthy”, you will probably find that your toddler rarely gets sick. Just like with adults, healthy habits and a healthy lifestyle equal good health.
